Wells, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in East Baltimore in the 21205 zipcode. Our goal is to help make life better for residents living in the inner city. We aim to make our community neighborhoods a place where residents love to live, works and play.

Wells was formed and is ran by residents who have lived in the community for over 60 years. Wells has no paid employees. The Board of Wells is comprised of men and women in the community whose professions include educators, attorneys, community leaders, business developers and real estate investors. Although Wells did not become incorporated as a 501( c)(3) organization until 2021, it has been actively investing in the community for 40 years.

Some of the resident-driven initiatives that we have organized include the changing of the traffic pattern in the 700, 800 and 900 block of N. Luzerne Ave. to control the follow of traffic, greening our community through annual planter rejuvenation, providing our residents with produce boxes during COVID, leading quarterly community clean-ups, lighting six blocks with café lights, assisting with block parties, and commissioning a
community mural and greenspace signage.

Wells is committed to keeping the ‘neighbor’ in neighborhood, reestablishing a safe environment for our residents and bringing resources to our community which is often overlooked.
